We've talked about this a bit in our Buyers Guide , but here, we'll take a closer look and help you get an even better idea of your options and costs! As mentioned before, it is difficult to answer, but we will do our best to help give you a better understanding on cost!
We’ll give the details below, of the costs and options related to our Standard InGround Pool Package!
Cost of the Pool Itself
A good place to start is the pool itself! At Mud Turtle Pools, we offer Vinyl Liner Pools and Fiberglass Pools. For now, we'll dive into the Vinyl Liner Pool.
Vinyl Liner Pool
Vinyl Liner Pools feature a steel wall structure with a vinyl liner interior. When companies quote a price range, it typically refers to a basic Vinyl Liner Pool. However, costs increase as you expand the pool’s size or add custom features. For instance, a larger pool means more steel, more liner material, additional excavation, and more dirt haul-away.
Entry & Deep End Features
You’ll also have options for customizing your pool’s entry and deep-end features. Here are some choices:
Entry Features:
Thermoplastic Outside End Stair (Commonly referred as Center End Step)
Thermoplastic Inside Corner Stair
Internal, Vinyl Over Steel Corner Stair
Custom Entry, Tanning Ledge & Combo Stair
Internal, Vinyl Over Steel Full Width Stair or Radius Stair (on Radius pool)
This is our STANDARD stair option on our Vinyl Liner InGround Pool projects!
Deep End Options
Standard Over-the-Wall Ladder
Standard In-Wall Ladder (for auto covers pools)
Deep End Bench & Walk Out Step
Deep End Walk Out Step
This is our STANDARD option on our Vinyl Liner InGround Pool projects!
With custom modifications, the liner itself may require additional customization, increasing the total cost. A unique design can also extend construction time.
Fiberglass Pools
Fiberglass pools offer less customization than Vinyl Liner Pools, but it does come with pre-molded features. Its more of a "What you see is what you get". Manufacturers produce pool shells based on popular designs, which means you can find one that fits your needs but won’t be able to alter its dimensions or shape. (Trust us you would't want to pay for that!) Today, most Fiberglass Manufacturers have many shell options, that it's become easy to find one that works perfectly for you and your family!
Fiberglass pool pricing varies based on size and built-in features (e.g., benches, tanning ledges, and steps). Our preferred manufacturer, Thursday Pools, incorporates innovative technology into their pools, including:
Backfill Eliminator (Standard on all tanning ledge models!) Check out https://thursdaypools.com/innovations/backfill-eliminator/
Double 07 Skimmer
Geo-Anchor Pool Wall System

Pool Deck
Your pool decking is the term used to discuss what is going around the pool, to enjoy the space
alongside and around the pool itself. Often these are Concrete, Stamped Concrete or Brick
Pavers.
We include Brick Pavers in our standard package, but you can also choose Concrete or Stamped Concrete. Pavers offer unmatched beauty, durability, and design versatility. We provide a complimentary 3D design to help you visualize your space.

Upgradable options:
Saltwater Systems (Standard chlorine feeder is included, but saltwater and AOP systems are available!)
Enhanced Robotic Vacuums (Longer run time, stronger motors, upgraded components)

Total Project Costs
Several factors influence the final price of your in-ground pool:
Pool Type: Fiberglass pools are typically 20% more expensive than Vinyl Liner Pools.
Covers: Automatic Pool Covers add significant cost but provide long-term savings.
Decking & Landscaping: Expanding the deck, adding a firepit, or outdoor kitchen increases the investment.
Retaining Walls & Drainage: Some backyards require grading or retaining walls for proper installation.
Additional Features: Salt systems, robotic cleaners, music systems, fencing, and landscape enhancements add to the final cost.
Our in-ground projects typically range from $80,000 to $200,000+, depending on size, features, and site conditions.
